Itinerary

DAY 1:

CUSCO | ATV MARAS - MORAY

This tour starts at 06:30 a.m. with the pick up of our customers to their hotels (Cusco city center) to leave towards Cruz Pata, upon arrival here our guide specialized in adventure, will give you some indications on the proper use of the ATVs and the entire route of the tour.

Our first stop will be in Moray, an archaeological center from the Inca period that served as an agricultural laboratory; we will continue our journey to the community of Maras, considered very important during the Viceroyalty, declared Villa de San Francisco de Asis (it was the main supplier of salt in the southern highlands), as evidenced by the church and the mansions that still retain the coats of arms of indigenous nobility on their facades.

Then we will take the same route to our base on the motorcycles.

We will board our unit towards the salt mines. It belongs to the town of Maras, which was of great importance during the Viceroyalty, it was the main supplier of salt in the highlands. The salt mines of Maras surprise the visitor for the more than three thousand wells that it presents and that at the present time are still worked by more than 360 families, who have inherited this custom and artisan extractive work; the commercialization of the salt is in charge of the association Maras Sal, in charge of watching over the interests of the community since the end of the 80’s. We will wait for the transportation that will take us back to the city of Cusco.
