Join us to discover the South Valley of Cusco and its imposing attractions, enjoy enchanting landscapes, Inca and pre-Inca constructions which prove the great intelligence of our ancestors. We will see perfectly planned hydraulic systems in Tipon, urban planning of great level made by the Wari in Piquillacta and the Church of San Pedro (Anduahuaylillas) known as the Sistine Chapel of America that stands out for its beautiful murals of religious art and its decoration in gold leaf.
In the morning, we will pick you up at your hotel between 08:30am and drive to the south side of the city, in the direction of Tipon which will be our first place of visit, here we can admire a variety of irrigation canals made of stone, water fountains and perfectly designed Inca terraces.
After a thorough explanation from our guide we will continue to Pikillacta (small town), an extensive pre-Inca archaeological park with houses built of stone and mud, straight streets enclosed by stone walls, squares and rectangular-shaped courts; it is believed to have been an urban center strategically located to control the Valles trains (upper and lower Vilcanota, as well as the valley of Quispicanchis) which were major producers of corn.
Later we will go to the town of Andahuaylillas where we will visit the San Pedro Church dating from the sixteenth century and is considered “The Sistine Chapel of America”, inside we will see splendid baroque style paintings, gold leaf frames, anonymous paintings of the Cusco school and artistic murals that will amaze us.
At the end of our visits we will take the transportation back to the city of Cusco where we will take a detour to go to the viewpoint of sky punku where you will have a panoramic view and you can take some pictures. we will arrive at approximately 2:00 pm.
