Our Transfer or guide will pass by your hotels at approximately 06:45 Hrs. we will take our transportation to go north for 40 minutes and arrive to the archaeological center of Chinchero, it is a living city that still maintains the original Inca spill and is located in a very important agricultural area. The church and tower are from colonial times, built on the base of Inca temples, the artisans offer their weavings made locally with ancient techniques.
After our visit, we went to the Moray area, which is a circular system of platforms built, taking advantage of the subsidence of the area. They are terraces with microclimates, for experimental purposes, such as domestication, acclimatization, hybridization and, in general, plant experimentation. Later we will visit the Maras salt pans that have been explored since pre-Inca times. There are more than 3000 shallow pools owned by almost 380 families. The salt water comes from natural springs that filter from the same hill called Qoripukiu (Fountain of Gold), then we will head to Urubamba to enjoy a delicious lunch.
After lunch, we will continue by bus for 30 minutes to reach the archaeological center of Ollantaytambo. This was a successively occupied area. In Inca times, another of the many multifunctional cities, it was an administrative, military, social and economic center, a checkpoint for various ecological levels.
After the visit, we will go to the archaeological center of Pisaq, a denomination that derives from the Quechua word P’isa. Its land was exploited through intelligent platform systems with their respective irrigation canals, which allowed the almost exclusive cultivation of the best corn in the world. In Pisaq we will be able to buy handicrafts, pottery or other souvenirs, as we will visit the model market of Pisaq.
We will return to Cusco around 6:30 pm approximately.
